Rune Stones

Rune Stones are often seen as a tool for self reflection, a handbook for the Spiritual Warrior.  The ancients of Northern Europe used them as an alphabet and Ralph Blum made them popular worldwide in the 1980’s with his book, The Book of Runes.  My mother gave me a gift set for christmas in 83 and I have been using the runes since.  I have found them to be so useful, when I began making pottery full time in 2002, I began to use them in my art and make several sets a year.  After looking for years to find cool, affordable bags to hold the runes I almost gave up the idea, then my Aunt Kathi Hess, who is a wonderful quilter, said she could make some… yea!  So I am making some new rune sets in the studio this week to match her beautiful pouches!  Thanks Kat!!
